Two NEW Winter Flight routes to Sweden from the UK

London, 9th April 2025 - Today, EasyJet launches direct flights to Scandinavian Mountains Airport – unlocking direct access to Sweden’s Premier Alpine Region of Sälen, Dalarna from London Gatwick and Manchester.

Starting Saturday, 6 December 2025, flights with fares starting from £27.99* will depart weekly from both London Gatwick and Manchester throughout the winter season, offering British travellers easier and more affordable access to the Swedish mountains.

This launch marks the first time that Scandinavian Mountains Airport will be connected directly to the UK by a low-cost carrier.

The shortest transfer time from Scandinavian Mountains Airport to the nearest ski resort, Hundfjället in Sälen, is approximately 10 minutes by car and with Sälen boasting over 188 well-groomed pistes suitable for all skill levels, this makes it a top choice for families, groups, and first-time skiers alike. The region also offers cosy accommodation, scenic winter trails, top-class Nordic cuisine, and an inviting atmosphere for those seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Gunnar Lenman, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport, said:
“Welcoming easyJet with two direct routes from the UK is fantastic news for the airport and the wider region. It’s a testament to the growing appeal of Sälen and dramatically improves accessibility for one of our most important international markets. We’re truly excited to welcome more British guests.”

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, added:
“We’re pleased to expand our network with this new destination in Sweden, offering more winter travel options for UK customers. Whether for skiing, snowboarding, or simply enjoying the crisp mountain air and beautiful landscapes, Sälen has something special to offer.”

The increased accessibility is already delivering results. During the winter season of 2024/25, overnight stays (bed nights) by British travellers in the region rose by 23.3%^ compared to the previous year. The UK is now the fourth largest international market for the destination — just 600 bed nights behind third place.
